Green Councillor responds to cyclists' concerns due to construction site

In recent weeks, the site of the car park and former depot in Kelvingrove Park has been cleared to make way for the new Hillhead Primary. The construction traffic is impacting on the pedestrian and cycling routes at an entrance to the Park on Kelvin Way.    Local residents who use the cycling route from Kelvin Way through Kelvingrove Park have highlighted their concerns about the introduction of temporary fencing to segregate trucks from pedestrians or cyclists at this entrance. There is now a narrow footway left for pedestrians and cyclists entering Kelvingrove Park.

In responding to concerns raised, local Green Councillor, Martha Wardrop said:-
'Further to discussions with cyclists and the site manager for the new Hillhead Primary, a traffic management plan and health and safety report is being prepared for this route. These reports will be made available to cyclists for their consideration.  I will continue to work to ensure the health and safety of pedestrians and cyclists using the routes through Kelvin Way and Kelvingrove Park'.
